Funding of the EL-PUENTE Foundation

The EL-PUENTE Foundation supports development policy education and public relations work nationwide to raise awareness in Germany about the living and working conditions in countries of the southern hemisphere and to promote intercultural exchange. Funding is provided to non-profit organizations, educational institutions, interest groups, and other associations that implement innovative projects in the fields of education, vocational training, development cooperation, or engagement for social cohesion and democracy. Special emphasis is placed on initiatives committed to sustainable agriculture, rural development, social work, and fair trade relations.

Applications can be submitted at any time following prior contact; the necessary application documents and funding criteria are available for download online. A prerequisite for a grant award is that the initiative is based in Germany and demonstrates a focus on development policy education and public relations work. The EL-PUENTE Foundation provides funds in the form of grants and offers continuous funding opportunities without deadline constraints. The foundation’s goal is to financially strengthen groups and initiatives that promote a sustainable understanding of global challenges through educational offerings, lectures, workshops, or campaigns, thereby building lasting bridges between different cultures.
