Promotion of Parent Education

The state of Upper Austria supports parents in accompanying their children through a special subsidy for parent education events. Upon issuance of the Upper Austria Family Card, a voucher worth 20 euros is provided. On the child’s third, sixth, and tenth birthdays, an additional 20 euros each is automatically credited. This credit can be redeemed for all recognized parent education offerings covering topics such as developmental phases, parenting methods, or partnership design. Parents thus gain easy access to practice-oriented workshops, lectures, and courses where participants exchange helpful knowledge and are guided by experts. Administration is handled digitally via the personal “parent education account,” eliminating physical vouchers and ensuring a transparent overview of the available budget at all times.

Eligible for funding are private individuals with primary residence in Upper Austria who are entitled to family allowance for at least one child and who hold or can apply for the Upper Austria Family Card. Applications can be submitted continuously and free of charge; only proof of the Family Card or the ongoing application is required. Participation fees for parent education events are subsidized, with the grant directly deducted from the fee. This enables parents to use educational offerings flexibly and address parenting issues in a well-founded manner.
