Description

The state of Upper Austria supports private and non-profit initiatives as well as interest groups and associations in Upper Austria in projects related to development cooperation and international aid measures. With a funding rate of around 30% of the eligible costs, projects are supported that achieve tangible improvements in living conditions in selected priority regions. The focus is on measures to combat poverty, promote sustainable economic and social development, and create livable conditions – for example, through drinking water supply, basic education, and improving the health of mothers. Furthermore, the funding provides aid for self-help and stimulates awareness among the population of Upper Austria. In the event of humanitarian emergencies abroad, rapid relief measures can also be supported. Applications can be submitted continuously before the start of the project.

Funding is provided to development workers from Upper Austria, private individuals, private initiatives, as well as actions carried out by parishes, associations, and other organizations. Within the framework of the "FAIR PLAY" campaign, student initiatives are additionally supported, with own funds up to €2,000 being doubled. Requirements include a clear connection to Upper Austria, a written application before the project start, proof of proper use of previous state grants in subsequent applications, and secured overall financing. Among others, project costs for development cooperation, local aid measures, deployment costs of development workers, stays abroad, association activities, FAIR-TRADE initiatives, and student projects are funded. For application submission, a funding application, project description, and cost and financing plan are required; the complete documents must be received by the state of Upper Austria before the project implementation begins.
