The purpose of the foundation is to promote animal and environmental protection, youth welfare, and gender equality between women and men, as well as to support people in need within the meaning of § 53 of the Fiscal Code. This is carried out in particular through own projects, seminars, lectures, publications, exhibitions, awarding of scholarships, granting of prizes, and other appropriate measures.

Description
The Epona Foundation for Horse and Environment supports innovative initiatives nationwide and honors exemplary projects in the fields of animal welfare, environmental and nature conservation, youth welfare, women's empowerment, and social affairs. Both private individuals and non-profit organizations can submit applications continuously to receive prize money, awards, or scholarships. Funding is primarily provided for projects that focus on the well-being of horses, ponies, and donkeys, as well as social measures for children, adolescents, and people in need. A special emphasis is placed on energy efficiency and climate protection, underscoring the founders’ commitment to a sustainable future. Through the funding instrument “Prize/Award,” the foundation recognizes outstanding contributions to environmental awareness, species protection, and social justice, thereby encouraging the replication of exemplary concepts.
