EU Funding Program for Producer Organizations of Fruit & Vegetables in Brandenburg
This grant program of the European Commission supports recognized producer organizations and their associations in Brandenburg in strengthening their competitiveness, improving market orientation, and implementing environmental measures. The goal is sustainable production and marketing of fruit and vegetables, promoting crisis preparedness, and increasing community consumption of fresh products. Within an approved operational program, measures for production planning, quality improvement, marketing, research and pilot projects, as well as training and consulting can be implemented. Special emphasis is placed on crisis prevention and management as well as environmental actions for resource and climate protection and residue reduction. The funding is aligned with a national strategy and an environmental framework, coordinated together with the State Office for Rural Development, Agriculture and Land Consolidation (LELF).

Participation, Funding Amount & Application
Eligible to apply are natural and legal persons, cooperatives, or other associations recognized as producer organizations (EU Regulation 1308/2013). Requirements include, among others, a minimum number and value of marketable production, establishment of an operational fund, an approved program with a duration of 36–60 months, as well as proof of technical means and financial accounting. Eligible expenses are reimbursed up to 50%; the EU aid amounts annually to 4.1% to 4.6% of the market value of the marketed production. Applications must be submitted to the LELF by September 15 each year. The measures are intended to increase market stability in the long term, cushion income fluctuations, and promote sustainable production methods.
