Funding of the Schambach Family Foundation (Palliative Care Facilities & Palliative Medicine Research)

The Schambach Family Foundation continuously provides grants to strengthen palliative care in the Frankfurt am Main area as well as the scientific research of palliative medicine throughout Germany. The goal is the sustainable improvement of patient care and the promotion of innovative research projects that address both the physical and psychosocial accompanying effects of serious illnesses. As a non-profit initiative, the funding program is aimed at educational institutions, public and non-profit organizations that actively contribute to the further development of palliative structures or wish to generate new insights in palliative medicine.

Funding is provided on the one hand to palliative facilities in the Rhine-Main area that ensure direct or indirect care of palliative patients. On the other hand, universities, colleges, and research institutions benefit from support for personnel, material, and project costs to carry out selected study and development projects. Funding requirements include the proven operation of a palliative facility in Frankfurt and its surroundings or a clearly defined research project in the field of palliative medicine. Applications can be submitted continuously, with the use of funds exclusively intended for statutory purposes. The foundation places great importance on economical use of funds and transparent documentation of all expenditures to ensure an impact-oriented implementation of the funding objectives.
