Funding of fire departments within the framework of a designated grant

The earmarked funding initiative supports volunteer fire brigades and their members in Burgenland in carrying out operations, procuring modern equipment, and qualifying emergency personnel. The sponsor of this funding pillar is the State of Burgenland, which provides targeted grants within the framework of the subsidy guidelines for fire services, thereby contributing to strengthening disaster protection as well as the social security of committed volunteers. Non-profit organizations and public institutions can continuously apply for funding to ensure the professional operational capability of their fire brigades.

A prerequisite for the approval of the grant is compliance with the funding guidelines for fire services in Burgenland. Applications can be submitted from January 1, 2023, as long as the allocated budget has not been exhausted. The application process is conducted through the responsible department of the state government, which accompanies all necessary decision-making processes within the Security Competence Center. This funding is aimed at organizations actively contributing to the protection of people, the environment, and property, and provides a reliable basis for training and further education measures as well as the acquisition of life-saving equipment.
