Description

The program supports innovative projects aimed at strengthening forestry in Carinthia and is directed at natural and legal persons, partnerships, interest groups, associations, as well as public institutions with a registered office in the federal state. The objective is to consider the region’s structural and natural conditions and to promote a close integration of forestry with the overall economy. With a funding rate of 100%, investment costs, material expenses, personnel costs, planning costs, and consulting fees are financed. Applications can be submitted continuously; the program is effective from 15.07.2023 until further notice and offers flexible support in the implementation of environmentally and climate protection-oriented forest projects.

Among others, forestry measures such as soil cultivation, reforestation, and stand maintenance, the expansion of forest infrastructure (forest roads), the establishment and professionalization of forest owners’ associations, as well as projects for the processing and marketing of wood and biomass are funded. The program also supports knowledge transfer initiatives, demonstration projects, the processing of damaged timber, and investments to strengthen the resilience of forest ecosystems. Non-eligible costs include public charges, court and administrative fees, attorney and notary fees, license fees, non-project-specific insurance, tax consulting fees, and depreciation. Selection is based on the criteria of legality, economic efficiency, appropriateness, and thriftiness, according to a business plan and in compliance with technical and environmental legal requirements.
