Description

The Community Foundation Diakonie in the Protestant Church Association Cologne and Region supports social-diaconal projects that promote peaceful coexistence among different groups. Non-profit organizations and public institutions from Cologne, the Rhein-Erft district, and the Rheinisch-Bergisch district can apply for a grant for initiatives in the areas of social affairs, education and training, engagement for social cohesion, and work & social issues. The focus is on projects that align with the foundation’s statutes and make a significant contribution to peaceful coexistence. Applicants must demonstrate the non-profit status of their project and ensure that the location is within the Protestant Church Association’s area.

The official application form for funding must be used for submissions, which must be submitted in writing by December 31 of each year. The foundation board makes its decision at its first meeting of the following year – usually in February – and promptly notifies all applicants. Evaluation criteria include compliance with the statutes, the social-diaconal character, and the contribution to peaceful coexistence. By specifically supporting non-profit projects, the foundation creates long-term impulses for social participation and cohesion in the region and especially invites Protestant initiatives and providers of social-diaconal services to apply for funding.
