Description
The Georg Plate Foundation (GPS) supports non-profit organizations, educational institutions, interest groups, and associations in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein as well as beyond, which are committed to the foundation’s purposes of youth welfare, science & innovation, art & culture, and civic engagement. With a special focus on disadvantaged children and young people, projects are supported that provide access to education, culture, sports, and research and open up perspectives that are often lacking in the family environment. Furthermore, initiatives that promote social cohesion and democratic coexistence as well as charitable and church-related purposes are funded. The foundation continuously provides grants and places great emphasis on creative, impact-oriented projects that generate sustainable impulses in the social and cultural sectors.
Interested non-profit institutions and associations must be recognized as charitable and submit a project within the defined funding priorities. Applications can be submitted at any time, as the Georg Plate Foundation offers ongoing funding opportunities. With this appealing support, committed project sponsors are enabled to empower young people from socially disadvantaged families, advance research projects, realize cultural productions, and make civil society engagement visible. Through targeted funding, the foundation contributes to equal opportunities, diverse educational participation, and vibrant cultural and community development.
