Description

The Hessian Ministry for Family, Seniors, Sports, Health and Care supports projects with this initiative that aim to provide needs-based and economical medical care in rural structured regions of Hesse. The grant is directed at public institutions, companies, and non-profit organizations that wish to develop innovative care structures and further expand existing services. Special emphasis is placed on the sustainable improvement of health infrastructure, the promotion of care analyses, the establishment of local health centers, as well as the model testing of cross-sectoral care forms. This funding contributes to securing attractive jobs in healthcare and ensuring comprehensive, high-quality care in rural areas.

Within the framework of the program, projects can be realized through two funding modules. On the one hand, municipal health strategies are supported by providing municipalities with financial grants for the establishment of interdisciplinary personnel positions to coordinate prevention measures, as well as to secure and further develop regional care structures. On the other hand, projects aiming at the establishment of new or the further development of existing care structures can be funded. In this context, funding generally amounts to 40 to 70 percent of eligible expenses, whereby 50 percent is possible for the preparation of care analyses and an increase of 20 percent for innovative, cross-sectoral approaches. Eligible costs include personnel expenses, social security contributions, equipment costs, and consulting services, while expenses for financing contracted physician positions and financing costs are explicitly excluded.

The funding is particularly open to Hessian counties, independent cities, and other eligible actors in the healthcare sector, provided the respective professional requirements are met. Applications for the funding module "Municipal Health Strategy" can be submitted twice annually by March 31 and October 31, whereas applications in the area of care structures are possible on an ongoing basis. In addition to a detailed project description, a financing plan, employment contracts, and task descriptions must be submitted to demonstrate the proper use of eligible expenses. With this funding measure, the State of Hesse makes a significant contribution to strengthening medical care in rural areas while simultaneously promoting an innovatively oriented development of future-oriented care models.
