Description

The Giesecke+Devrient Foundation, as a non-profit organization, supports projects in the greater Munich area that align with its guiding principle "Preserving Roots – Shaping the Future". Within the funding priorities of intercultural dialogue, educational and equal opportunity justice, social participation, and the preservation of cultural heritage, initiatives are supported that empower young people regardless of their background. Both artistically creative educational formats and language promotion programs, as well as projects for career orientation and digital media literacy, are funded. Particular importance is placed on sustainable impact: funded projects are characterized by scalability, long-term support, and systemic effect, and are developed and implemented as equal partners of the Foundation.

Interested non-profit organizations and public institutions may submit applications on an ongoing basis, provided they are based in Munich and have a clear connection to the Foundation’s focus areas. The application includes information about the organization (year of establishment, number of employees), a detailed project description with objectives and target group, a timeline, and transparent financial planning including funding requirements. The allocation is decided by the Foundation Board upon recommendation of the Executive Board based on strategic criteria such as quality, partnership, sustainability, and public relations. The goal is to create sustainable impulses for openness, participation, and cultural diversity and to support young people in their personal development over the long term.
