As part of the promotion of gigabit coverage in the state of Hesse, low-interest loans are provided to advance the comprehensive expansion of gigabit-capable fiber optic networks and high-performance broadband technologies. The continuation of these loan offerings enables continuous application submissions and ensures flexible project planning. The goal is to particularly develop underserved regions in Hesse and to build a powerful digital infrastructure that meets the current demands of business, administration, and private users.
Funding is provided to municipalities, private network operators, as well as companies and private individuals who wish to establish or operate their own network infrastructure in Hesse. The processing is carried out by the Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen (WIBank), which, as the central development bank of the state of Hesse, provides low-interest loans on behalf of the Hessian Ministry for Digitalization and Innovation.
