Description
GLS Treuhand e.V. supports non-profit initiatives nationwide with grants of up to €5,000 and aims to actively contribute to shaping an open, democratic, and sustainable society. Eligible to apply are non-profit organizations based in Germany; exceptions apply for scholarships, for which individuals may also submit applications. Funding covers a 100% reimbursement of eligible expenses such as personnel costs, material resources, and project-related expenditures. Applications can be submitted digitally at any time, with projects allowed to commence no earlier than six weeks after application submission. Excluded are construction measures, acquisition of real estate and land, institutional multi-year financing, as well as flat-rate grants for general operating costs. Projects are supported across diverse fields of action, including youth and elderly care, education, democracy and human rights, development cooperation, culture & media, environmental/nature conservation, climate protection, animal welfare, as well as vocational training, agriculture, and energy efficiency.
For a complete application, in addition to the digital application form, a signed confirmation with data protection declaration, a detailed financial and cost plan, statutes, an excerpt from the association or commercial register, and a current certificate of non-profit status must be submitted; supplementary documents such as annual financial statements may be included if necessary. Awarding is based on clear evaluation criteria: contribution to societal self-efficacy, degree of innovation and future potential, compliance with ecological, social, and ethical standards, as well as the scalability of the project. The decision period is generally six to twelve weeks, with no inquiries entertained. This funding opportunity is aimed at committed project sponsors who create genuine societal added value through creative and value-oriented approaches.
