Description
In Saxony, the grant program Promotion of Healthcare Professions of the Free State provides continuously available support for healthcare professionals. The program addresses the areas of education & training, health, as well as work & social affairs. The goal is to improve medical and nursing care by promoting education and training measures, coordinating specialist medical training networks, strengthening midwifery services, and implementing innovative model projects. Specialist physicians in training, students, trainees, and further trainees are specifically supported to expand their professional competencies. With coverage of up to 90% of eligible expenses – especially for personnel and material costs, and in exceptional cases also for investments – the program sends a clear signal for high-quality care structures in both rural and urban areas. Applications can be submitted continuously, thus offering maximum flexibility.
Eligible for funding are private individuals, public institutions such as municipalities and hospitals, as well as educational institutions and legal entities with projects in the Free State of Saxony. A key prerequisite is implementation in accordance with the Saxon training regulations, including approval as a training facility with the corresponding authorization for further training. For regional training networks, proof of sponsorship must be provided; midwifery support is aimed at state-wide active associations, freelance midwives, and prospective midwives. Model projects can be applied for by natural and legal persons to test innovative care approaches. Primarily personnel and material expenses are eligible for funding; in exceptional cases, investment costs are covered. The funding rate is up to 90% of recognized expenses depending on the project. Since applications are possible at any time and the application section for geriatric nursing training (Part D) has already been closed, interested parties can plan and implement their projects promptly.
