Description
The Heinrich Sauer & Josef Schmidt Foundation continuously supports projects in the Main-Kinzig region that advocate for victims of violent crime, especially children and adolescents, as well as for people who have fallen into hardship through no fault of their own. Through grants in the form of subsidies, therapy places, care measures in women's shelters and specialized counseling centers, prevention work against sexual violence, as well as accompanying social and official counseling are financed. Furthermore, the foundation supports young people on their educational path through scholarships and promotes training and further education measures to sustainably open up prospects for those affected and strengthen their participation in social life.
Eligible to apply are private individuals and non-profit organizations residing or operating in the Main-Kinzig district who are victims of violence or have fallen into an undeserved emergency situation. For a monthly scholarship of €100, students of secondary schools must demonstrate a grade point average of 2.0 or better, prove financial need, and provide evidence of commitment in school or clubs. Meaningful documentation such as tax and pension notices as well as documents on academic performance and voluntary work are also expected. Selection is based on personality, academic development, family financial situation, and social engagement. Applications can be submitted at any time, allowing for prompt assistance and coverage of individual funding needs.
