Funding by the Heinz Besser Foundation

The Heinz Besser Foundation supports nationwide scientific and research projects in the field of ophthalmology through financial grants. Eligible for funding are both private individuals and non-profit organizations and educational institutions engaged in innovative approaches to ophthalmological research. Concurrently, a portion of the funds is directed towards needy blind and visually impaired individuals in accordance with § 53 AO, to provide these people with concrete everyday aids and therapies. Additionally, funding is allocated to projects in public health and healthcare, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis and a straightforward, timely decision-making process aimed for.

Research institutions, scientists, as well as initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for visually impaired and blind people will find an established source of funding here. Through the combination of basic research, clinical studies, and social support, the foundation makes a holistic contribution to the prevention and treatment of eye diseases.
