Description

The Hofmann Hagemann Hildesheimer Foundation supports the nationwide musical education and training of young talents in the field of string instruments. The focus of the funding is the loan of the historically significant “Guarneri ex Hildesheimer” violin as well as financial grants for education and studies. Furthermore, tax-privileged institutions, associations, and events dedicated to the promotion of string instrumentalists benefit, for example within the framework of competitions such as “Jugend musiziert.” The goal is to sustainably strengthen the artistic development of supported individuals and to preserve the cultural heritage of the composer Franz Hofmann through public performances of his works. The funds are used exclusively for charitable purposes and contribute to equipping young musicians with excellent instruments and targeted financial support.

Funding is provided to musically gifted private individuals who are pursuing or have already begun training or studies in the field of string instruments—especially students of the State University of Music Nuremberg or its legal successor. Additionally, grants are available for non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and associations dedicated to the teaching and performance of string instrumental music. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no legal entitlement to funding. The decision on the allocation is made by a voluntary foundation board, which ensures the preservation of the foundation’s principal assets as well as the purposeful use of the proceeds. In doing so, the foundation makes a sustainable contribution to the promotion of emerging artists and the revitalization of public performances in the string sector.
