Description

The Homann Foundation supports non-profit initiatives, public institutions, and committed private individuals in Hamburg who create sustainably positive impacts on society and the environment. With funding priorities in Living in Old Age, Empowering Youth, and Climate and Environmental Protection, projects are supported that, for example, test innovative solutions to improve the quality of life for older people, promote resilience and social integration among young people, or enable practical nature and environmental experiences. In addition to financial participation in one-time projects, the Homann Foundation seeks long-term partnerships to sustainably strengthen impact and participation in the areas of health, social cohesion, and energy efficiency. Individuals in difficult life situations may also receive funding, provided the project is implemented in Hamburg and fits within the funding spectrum.

Funding applications for smaller projects can be submitted year-round, while larger initiatives are considered before the advisory board meetings in April and November. Applications must be submitted six weeks prior to these meetings. The first step involves an initial telephone contact, followed by the submission of a completed questionnaire. Evaluation criteria include alignment with the funding priorities, sustainable impact within the Hamburg metropolitan area, and practical feasibility. The Homann Foundation places great value on transparency and collaborative communication to jointly realize forward-looking impulses for the urban community with the applicants.
