Support for the substantive work in women's shelters and their outpatient counseling centers

Support for the substantive work in women’s shelters and their outpatient counseling centers is aimed at public institutions as well as non-profit organizations in Saxony-Anhalt that provide protection, counseling, and support services for women and children threatened or affected by violence. The focus is on the financial coverage of personnel and material administrative expenses in the protected residential area, psychosocial and socio-pedagogical counseling and support, care for children, as well as preventive measures through information and networking. With a funding rate of up to 90% and a maximum amount of up to €222,894 annually, both residential and outpatient services can be strengthened and sustainably expanded. Applications can be submitted continuously but must be received by the responsible State Administration Office of Saxony-Anhalt at least two months before the planned funding period begins.

Funding requirements include having a registered office and sponsorship in Saxony-Anhalt, recognition of the need by the local social welfare authority, and maintaining at least four occupancy places in the women’s shelter. Furthermore, ensuring minimum staffing standards (1.5 full-time equivalents for four places, an additional 0.125 FTE per extra place, 3.0 FTE from eight places, 0.75 FTE for outpatient counseling centers) and employing at least one state-recognized social worker or socio-pedagogue is required. A financial co-payment of at least 10% must be provided; cost contributions exceeding €15 per day require special justification. Maintenance, operational, and investment costs can also be funded to ensure the long-term security of the support structures.
