Funding objective

The Free State of Saxony supports projects aimed at intensifying cross-border and interregional cooperation within the Euroregions and with partner states, as well as promoting the European idea and the shared values of the European Union. Funding is provided, among others, for bi- and preferably trinational projects focusing on the Republic of Poland and the Czech Republic.

Description

The Free State of Saxony supports projects that sustainably intensify exchange within Euroregions and with partner states through the guideline for the promotion of interregional and cross-border cooperation as well as the European idea. Eligible for funding are, among others, cultural, sporting, and media initiatives as well as events for European political education. Special attention is given to bi- and trinational cooperations with the Republic of Poland and the Czech Republic. The grant is provided as a subsidy covering up to 80% of eligible expenses and amounts to at least €4,000 up to a maximum of €30,000. Eligible applicants include public institutions, non-profit organizations, foundations, municipal corporations, non-profit limited liability companies (gGmbH), and other entities such as chambers of crafts or European Groupings of Territorial Cooperation.

For a successful application, at least 10% of the expenses (5% for non-profit applicants) must be demonstrated as own funds. Bi- and trinationally funded projects should have eligible equipment costs exceeding €10,000 and take place in Saxony or in defined partner regions. Submissions must be made by February 28 of the year or at least two months before the project start to the Saxony State Directorate, Dresden office. Required documents include, among others, the completed application form, a detailed project description, an expense and financing plan, as well as the statutes, certificate of non-profit status, and, if applicable, an extract from the register of associations. This funding offer contributes to strengthening the European idea and the shared values of the EU and opens up diverse opportunities for cross-border cooperation.
