Funding of the Israelite Religious Society

The funding provided by the Israelite Religious Society supports nonprofit organizations, interest groups, and associations nationwide in implementing targeted security measures in Jewish institutions. Within the framework of a non-repayable grant, structural and technical precautions are promoted that serve to protect against potential threats while simultaneously contributing to the strengthening of public safety. The basis for approval is the General Framework Guidelines for the Granting of Funding from Federal Funds (ARR 2014), which guarantee transparent and efficient allocation of funds.

The Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), Department I/S/12 – Funding Management and Project Support, is responsible for the funding management. In line with the "Secure.Austria Strategy 2025 | Vision 2030," the ministry aims to further enhance the high level of public peace, order, and security. Applicant organizations can submit needs-based concepts that may include access controls, video surveillance, alarm systems, and structural reinforcements. Through targeted support, Jewish institutions are to be sustainably protected and the overall security situation in Austria strengthened.
