Funding of the JOANES Foundation

The JOANES Foundation supports interdisciplinary projects nationwide at the intersection of science and art that explore pathways to sustainable and desirable coexistence in times of scarce resources. Projects from the fields of research & innovation, culture & media, work & social affairs, as well as engagement for social cohesion and democracy, are funded. As a grant provider, the foundation supports collaborations between foundations, universities, research institutions, companies, and independent actors. Applications can be submitted at any time on an ongoing basis, enabling flexible project development without fixed deadlines. The goal is to find answers through creative and scientifically grounded approaches to questions of housing, social participation, and cultural design processes that promote a future-proof society.

Project leaders from science, art, and research, as well as other interested parties working interdisciplinarily and willing to develop new solutions together with the JOANES Foundation, are eligible for funding. A prerequisite for funding is a willingness to cooperate with the foundation as well as an interdisciplinary project approach that links different perspectives and sets innovative impulses. The JOANES Foundation invites the submission of visionary ideas and their further development within an open network of experts and partners. Through its support, the foundation contributes to shaping living and housing spaces that conserve resources and strengthen the coexistence of diverse communities.
