Funding by the Johannes Ziegler Foundation (Project and Individual Support)

The Johannes Ziegler Foundation supports nationwide open project and individual funding for non-profit initiatives that benefit people in need and strengthen diaconal fields of work. The focus areas include youth, elderly, and disability assistance, as well as hospice care, participation, addiction support, and educational measures. Animal-assisted initiatives and intergenerational encounter projects are also specifically promoted. As a grant provider, the foundation aims to sustainably improve the quality of life for disadvantaged target groups and to convey Christian-diaconal values. Eligible expenses include material costs, personnel, and fees. Evaluation is based on impact, sustainability, subsidiarity, and own contribution, with the diaconal self-understanding always at the center.

Funding is provided to non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private individuals who submit a project-related application and demonstrate their own contribution. A prerequisite is alignment with the Christian-diaconal concept and the examination of priority funding options. The funding application, including project description, financing plan, interim/final report, and proof of use, can be submitted at any time via the provided forms. After positive review by the foundation’s board, support is usually disbursed in installments, accompanied by regular reports and fund requests.
