Description

The Johannis Foundation Ergste permanently supports the church work in the Protestant parish of Ergste in North Rhine-Westphalia. From the interest income of the foundation capital, 100% subsidies are provided for personnel costs related to spiritual and pastoral duties as well as for pastoral care measures. This aims to strengthen community life and spiritual fellowship on site, promote Christian encounters, and ensure support across all age groups. Non-profit organizations with a statutory purpose linked to the work of the Protestant parish of Ergste are entitled to submit applications at any time. The decisions of the foundation board are made transparently according to the criteria of statutory purpose, sustainability, and actual community need.

For the application, an informal cover letter outlining the purpose of the funding is required, supplemented by proof of non-profit status and a detailed breakdown of the planned personnel costs and pastoral care measures. Continuous submission allows for flexible planning without fixed deadlines. Eligible expenses exclusively include personnel and measure costs for spiritual guidance, youth work, senior care, and similar offerings. The foundation board, composed of presbyters and parish members, reviews the use of funds annually and advises on the allocation of income. In this way, sustainable and needs-based support is ensured, making God's work tangible in everyday life and contributing to the further development of parish work.
