Description

The municipal promotion of youth work in Bergkamen is aimed at recognized independent youth welfare organizations, youth associations, as well as youth groups of sports clubs with their registered office in Bergkamen. Within the thematic areas of children and youth, social affairs, and work & social affairs, the city of Bergkamen supports youth trips, camps, and recreational activities (2–11 days), international youth encounters (4–21 days), holiday and family recreation measures (at least 12 or 14 days), as well as qualification offers for voluntary and part-time staff. The goal is to strengthen voluntary engagement and promote cross-border encounters for children, youth, and young adults up to 27 years old from Bergkamen. Funding is provided as a grant in accordance with the "Guidelines for the Promotion of Youth Work," whereby party-political, religious, and purely sporting events as well as school events are excluded. Ongoing application opportunities ensure flexible project planning.

For an application, all participants must prove their main residence in Bergkamen, and the institution must have concluded an agreement for the submission of extended certificates of good conduct. Applications must be submitted at least two weeks before the start of the measure and be supplemented by a completed application form, a detailed program overview, accommodation confirmation, proof of use, as well as a list of participants and supervisors. Upon request, an advance payment of up to 75% of the anticipated grant may be granted. After completion of the measure, the full proof of use must be submitted within eight weeks; otherwise, repayment will be required. In this way, the city of Bergkamen provides a reliable foundation to sustainably secure the diversity and quality of youth work and to set new impulses for future-oriented projects.
