Support for Youth Work (Dissen Foundation)

The Dissen Foundation supports sustainable measures in church-based child and youth work in Dissen as part of ongoing funding. Up to €8,000 per year is provided as a grant, primarily to ensure the financing and permanent securing of a deacon position. Projects funded are those implemented in cooperation with local schools and the church congregation, offering young people new opportunities for education, leisure, and participation. The goal is to relieve non-profit organizations and public institutions in Lower Saxony of personnel-intensive projects and to establish long-term effective structures in the social and educational sectors.

The primary beneficiaries are children and youth in Dissen as well as volunteers in the Voluntary Social Year who are active in schools and church youth work. Applications can be submitted at any time; there is no formal deadline. A prerequisite for funding is close collaboration with the Evangelical Lutheran Church congregation and local educational institutions. Funding is provided exclusively to non-profit organizations and mainly covers personnel costs. Through continuous commitment, the diaconal services in the city are to be strengthened, the educational support of young people intensified, and the cooperation between schools and the church community promoted.
