Funding of the Cardinal von Galen School Foundation

Since its founding in 2008 in Mettingen, the Kardinal-von-Galen School Foundation has been committed to the sustainable promotion of education and upbringing. Regular grants are provided from the returns on the foundation’s capital to support projects at the foundation’s schools in North Rhine-Westphalia. The focus is on the further development of school infrastructure, the furnishing of learning spaces, and the strengthening of media- and library-based offerings. By using the capital returns in a targeted manner, the foundation’s capital remains untouched, thereby ensuring the long-term financing of innovative measures without competing with other funding institutions.

Eligible for funding are public and other educational institutions that belong to the community of Kardinal-von-Galen schools in Mettingen. In particular, students and teachers benefit from projects that serve school development, training and continuing education, as well as the implementation of modern teaching materials. Applications can be submitted at any time—there is no fixed deadline. The only requirement is affiliation with a school location of the foundation. The uncomplicated application process enables prompt responses to educational needs and the establishment of long-term effective impulses in everyday school life. Thus, the foundation makes a decisive contribution to the future viability of the participating learning sites.
