Description
Since 2004, the Karl Hemmer Foundation of the Kolping Association Diocesan Association Freiburg has supported non-profit initiatives in Baden-Württemberg dedicated to youth and family work, vocational training and further education, as well as development cooperation. Special focus is placed on projects in youth vocational assistance, family support, and training measures in the Indian state of Kerala. The foundation exclusively pursues charitable and non-profit purposes and aims for an equitable distribution of funds. From the proceeds of the Rudolf Fischer legacy, it specifically promotes training workshops and scholarship programs in Kerala to create opportunities for young people and strengthen global responsibility.
Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, educational institutions, public bodies, and private individuals who initiate projects for youth and families or one-world measures. Applications are submitted informally by May 15 each year and require a brief project description with objectives, a justification of eligibility for funding, and a financing plan. The foundation board decides on the allocation of grants in the summer; the amount depends on the available proceeds. After approval, proof of fund usage must be provided no later than twelve months thereafter, and public relations must acknowledge the support of the Karl Hemmer Foundation. The funding offers clubs, associations, educational providers, and individuals the opportunity to implement sustainable projects in the social and educational sectors.
