Description
The Katarina Witt Foundation, established by the figure skating icon Katarina Witt, supports initiatives across Germany that provide sustainable assistance to children and adolescents with disabilities. Projects are funded in the areas of sports promotion, mobility, medical care, and disaster relief, integrating movement, independence, and safety into everyday life. The foundation addresses non-profit organizations, companies, cooperatives, foundations, interest groups, educational institutions, and public bodies alike, provided they fulfill the required funding purpose and aim for inclusive participation. Project ideas that are innovative, practice-oriented, and sustainable, thereby generating measurable added value for the target group, are particularly welcome.
Applications must be submitted in writing by post, accompanied by a completed funding application including an organizational description, tax exemption certificate, and complete bank details (IBAN). Funding requirements include the project's focus on children and adolescents with disabilities, proof of legal status and non-profit status, as well as the complete provision of all relevant organizational data. Since the funds are granted as a subsidy, the procedure allows for direct project implementation without lengthy waiting times. Applications can be submitted continuously, enabling funded partners to respond flexibly to urgent needs—whether in the context of disaster relief or medical emergencies—and to receive a solid financial foundation from the outset.
