Description

The Konrad Krieger Foundation, as a non-profit institution, is committed to strengthening initiatives focused on nature conservation and animal welfare as well as artistic and cultural projects. The focus is on projects closely related to the Lower Rhine region and North Rhine-Westphalia; in exceptional cases, nationwide initiatives are also considered. Funding is provided for both protective measures for endangered habitats and biodiversity, as well as interdisciplinary art and cultural projects that integrate research and youth work. The foundation recognizes outstanding life achievements, innovative concepts, and practical engagement. Scholarships and awards highlight talents, while exemplary collaborations – for instance with the Düsseldorf Art Academy or local environmental initiatives – provide impetus for sustainable development.

Support is provided in the form of financial grants, in-kind contributions, and access to a widely networked pool of expertise. Applicants, such as private individuals, scientists, emerging talents, NGOs, associations, and public institutions, must submit a project that aligns with the foundation’s objectives and ideally has a regional connection. There is no formal deadline: applications can be submitted at any time. Selection is based on the innovativeness, societal benefit, and feasibility of the projects. As a long-term partner, the Konrad Krieger Foundation accompanies its funded projects through to successful implementation and beyond – always with the goal of sustainably linking art, culture, nature, and animal protection and providing impetus for future generations.
