Description
Cancer Research Funding – Werner and Klara Kreitz Foundation has been supporting university research projects at the medical faculties of Schleswig-Holstein since 1987. On a biennial cycle, the foundation awards generous grants to projects whose funding is not yet secured and that are dedicated to the study of tumor diseases. Of particular interest are scientists and research groups at the faculties in Kiel and Lübeck who develop innovative methods and approaches in diagnostics or therapy. By focusing on individual faculties per funding period, the foundation enables substantial financial support and thus promotes sustainable, forward-looking initiatives in regional healthcare.
The call for applications for 2025 is expected to be announced shortly; a precise deadline is yet to be determined. A complete application requires a project title, a detailed project overview, information on project leadership and involved personnel, as well as a substantive description of methods and procedures. Additionally, a detailed financial plan, duration details, and a precise presentation of project objectives must be submitted. University research projects in the field of cancer research and affiliation with a medical faculty in Schleswig-Holstein constitute the fundamental eligibility criteria. Interim and final reports, including proof of expenditure, ensure transparent use of funds and enable the Kreitz Foundation to effectively monitor the supported projects. In this way, the foundation makes a decisive contribution to strengthening oncological research in northern Germany.
