Funding requirements

  • Associations and institutions whose purpose is the promotion of further education in rural areas and which are not recognized or funded under the Continuing Education Act or Youth Education Act
  • Participants must have completed vocational training or be able to demonstrate several years of professional experience, have their residence in Baden-Württemberg, and derive their main, secondary, or additional income from agricultural professions
  • Recipients of benefits under the Employment Promotion Act are excluded from funding
  • Further education measures must primarily promote the professional knowledge and skills of the participants or serve to improve the understanding of agricultural, forestry, or other relevant issues of rural areas
  • Practical courses and seminars must have a minimum duration of 12 hours; lecture events must have at least 12 participants

Description

The program "Promotion of Rural Continuing Education" of the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg supports the implementation and participation in subject-specific continuing education measures in rural areas. Eligible are educational institutions, private individuals, and public institutions as well as associations with the purpose of rural continuing education. Participants must provide proof of completed vocational training or several years of professional experience, have their residence in Baden-Württemberg, and engage in their main, secondary, or ancillary occupation in agricultural professions. Recipients of benefits under the Employment Promotion Act are excluded. Funded are practice-oriented courses, seminars, and lecture events on topics related to agriculture, forestry, and general issues of rural areas.

Funding includes, among other things, fees and travel expenses for speakers, material costs for invitations, room rentals, demonstration and presentation materials, as well as travel, meal, and accommodation expenses for participants. For implementation, funding is granted as a flat rate of €12 per full hour or proportionally up to 50% of eligible costs for regional or statewide events. For participants, meal allowances of €6 per day and accommodation allowances of €12 per day are provided. Minimum scope: 12 hours for courses and seminars, at least 12 participants for lectures. Applications must be submitted using the application form (Appendix 1) no later than four weeks before the start of the measure to the responsible regional council.
