Description
The State Center for Political Education Brandenburg supports non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and recognized continuing education providers in implementing diverse educational formats throughout Brandenburg. The funding program aims to strengthen political education in all its aspects. The offering includes a wide range of extracurricular events – from seminars, workshops, lectures, and exhibitions to theater projects and film screenings. Initiatives that promote understanding of the constitutional order, enable critical engagement with historical and current issues, and stimulate citizens' democratic participation are particularly supported.
At the core of the funding is the imparting of knowledge and skills that are fundamental to a functioning democracy. Projects serving political adult education are especially supported when they provide authentic information and encourage responsible action in society. The program targets participants who live, study, or work in Brandenburg, thereby creating a forum where historical awareness and civic engagement go hand in hand. Key evaluation criteria include the themes and objectives of the initiatives, the approach to target groups, as well as the didactics and execution of the planned measures, supported by the expertise of the involved specialists.
The prerequisites for funding are clearly defined: the project must be planned before the start of the measure, and the application must be submitted at least eight weeks in advance. Required documents include, among others, a detailed project description, a comprehensive financing plan, the association’s statutes, a current excerpt from the register of associations, and a certificate of non-profit status. With this structured approach, the State Center seeks to ensure that innovative ideas and projects for political education can be implemented optimally and sustainably in the region. Continuous funding enables the long-term generation of impulses for social participation and the strengthening of democracy locally.
