Description
The Malteser Foundation supports charitable projects and institutions of the Malteser organization in Germany and abroad through continuous grants. Eligible for funding are exclusively non-profit organizations and public institutions affiliated with the Malteser organization. Applications can be submitted at any time to realize initiatives in areas such as hospice and palliative care, visitation and accompaniment services for elderly or lonely individuals, elderly and dementia care, as well as child and youth welfare. In addition, the foundation promotes humanitarian aid and refugee projects both in Germany and worldwide and is engaged in disaster relief, development cooperation, as well as environmental and nature conservation.
In selecting projects, priority is given to relevance for the target group, sustainability aspects, urgency, and promoting self-help. The funding focuses range from local family centers and mentoring programs to medical care services for uninsured individuals and emergency aid operations following natural disasters or in crisis regions. The goal is to provide comprehensive support to people affected by emergencies and to enable long-term perspectives. With gender-neutral language and professional guidance, the foundation supports inclusive projects that advance social participation, integration, and independence.
