Description
The Marga and Kurt Möllgaard Foundation supports charitable initiatives in science, research, and education with a special focus on the new federal states, the Baltic Sea bordering countries, and Frankfurt am Main. As an operational foundation, it supports both international cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe as well as regional educational and cultural projects. In addition, individual measures in the humanities and natural sciences as well as social initiatives are financed from the foundation’s proceeds. The funding volume amounts to approximately 300,000 euros annually, with private individuals, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations from Brandenburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia eligible to apply. The foundation sees itself as an active partner in project development and recommends contacting them prior to application submission to assess the prospects of success.
Supported are students, early-career researchers, and research institutions who have completed a university degree or an equivalent qualification and possess good German language skills. Projects must have a clear connection to the funding priorities—whether in research and teaching in the new federal states, in international cooperation with Baltic Sea bordering countries, or in initiatives in Frankfurt am Main. Evaluation is based on scientific quality, the international cooperative character, and regional relevance. Applications can be submitted at any time; pre-arranged discussions with the foundation management increase the chances of success. Through these continuous funding opportunities, the foundation provides a sustainable basis for the further development of innovative research, educational, and cultural initiatives.
