Funding of the Max and Justine Elsner Foundation

The Max and Justine Elsner Foundation, based in Erlangen, has supported charitable and benevolent projects in Bavaria since its establishment. The focus is on youth and elderly care as well as the support of people in need. Furthermore, officially recognized associations of independent welfare organizations, fire brigades, and the Federal Agency for Technical Relief are supported, as well as cultural initiatives and sports in general, with particular emphasis on tennis. To date, around 1,000 projects have been funded with a total of approximately four million euros, including equipment for youth fire brigades, sports facilities in regional clubs, and cultural events. The foundation operates as a public institution under civil law and uses its funds exclusively for tax-privileged purposes in accordance with the German Fiscal Code.

Ongoing grant opportunities are available for non-profit organizations, public institutions, interest groups, and associations. Eligible applicants are particularly initiatives from the fields of child and youth welfare, social welfare, disaster relief, sports, as well as culture and media. A prerequisite for funding is proof of non-profit status and the alignment of the planned project with one of the foundation’s objectives. Selection is based on professional plausibility and the charitable benefit for the target groups. The Max and Justine Elsner Foundation invites interested project sponsors to submit their proposals and thus contribute to the sustainable strengthening of social cohesion in Bavaria.
