Description
The Free State of Thuringia supports the establishment of dentists and orthodontists in rural areas with a non-repayable investment grant of up to €40,000 as well as up to €5,000 for barrier-free equipment measures. Funding is provided for start-ups, practice takeovers, and renovation or conversion measures in municipalities with defined population limits. Support is given for equipping practice rooms with medical devices, office and business equipment, as well as all measures to create barrier-free access. A prerequisite is approval by the Admission Committee or the Thuringian Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, a practice location within the defined rural regions, and a binding commitment to practice the profession for at least 60 months. Applications can be submitted continuously to the Thuringian State Administration Office.
Eligible applicants include both natural persons such as dentists and orthodontists as well as dental medical care centers. The funding aims to strengthen healthcare provision in structurally weak areas, revitalize underserved regions, and sustainably improve accessibility in practices. By combining grant components for investment costs and barrier-free adaptations, the program offers practical incentives for long-term establishment in rural Thuringia. Interested founders or successors can find all necessary application forms and information on the funding procedure at the Thuringian State Administration Office as well as in the current funding guidelines.
