Funding objective
The funding of the Lower Austrian cultural economy aims to develop and present artistic and scientific projects with substantive and social relevance as well as the highest quality standards, and to enable original artistic creation in and from Lower Austria, in order to culturally and socially help shape the cultural landscape of Central Europe.

Funding requirements
- Natural or legal persons with cultural relevance in Lower Austria must submit a written application for funding.
- The project must contribute to the objectives of the Lower Austria Cultural Funding Act 1996 and other regional concepts in art, culture, education, and science.
- Main residence or registered office of the applicant in Lower Austria or implementation of the project in Lower Austria; alternatively, special significance for the state of Lower Austria.
- Declaration of own contributions and third-party financing required; without own contributions only possible in cases of special interest to the state.

Description
The promotion of the Lower Austrian cultural economy supports artistic and scientific projects in Lower Austria that have an impact beyond the region as well as internationally and meet the highest quality standards. It is aimed at natural and legal persons, non-profit organizations, companies, cooperatives, foundations, and public institutions whose activities enrich the cultural process in Lower Austria. As a grant program with an open submission deadline, it funds projects in the fields of culture, science, culture & media, as well as research & innovation. With the goal of sustainably strengthening original artistic creation and actively shaping the cultural landscape of Central Europe, content-wise and socially relevant concepts are supported that demonstrate a clear connection to Lower Austria while simultaneously providing impulses for the region.
A written funding application is required for submission, supplemented by a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, as well as proof of residence or registered office of the applicant in Lower Austria. Additionally, own contributions and third-party contributions must be documented – exceptions are possible in cases of outstanding regional interest. Selection is based on established evaluation criteria: contribution to the objectives of the Lower Austrian Cultural Promotion Act, quality and social relevance, regional reference, sustainability and climate protection, as well as diversity and equal opportunities.
