Funding by the Otto Foundation

The Otto Foundation, based in Bad Nauheim, continuously supports charitable projects throughout Germany as well as in the European Union. Eligible for funding are legally recognized foundations, non-profit associations, interest groups, and public institutions engaged in the fields of children and youth, social affairs, education, culture, sports, social cohesion, as well as vocational training and further education. Funding is provided for measures that correspond to the tax-privileged purposes according to § 52 of the Fiscal Code and are characterized by a pronounced sustainability aspect. Applications can be submitted at any time and are approved in the form of grants to enable direct assistance for orphaned children, youth, seniors, or charitable projects.

The focus of the funding activities is the goal of supporting diverse educational and cultural initiatives as well as self-help aid projects both domestically and abroad. The evaluation is based on the relevance to the target groups, the charitable impact, and the sustainability of the project work. Favored are projects that protect and educate orphaned children, provide youth and elderly care, promote social self-help, or strengthen non-profit sports and cultural clubs. Additionally, the intended projects should serve as an impetus for further engagement and motivate other actors to make their own societal contributions. With this broad portfolio, the Otto Foundation makes a sustainable contribution to strengthening social cohesion and promoting forward-looking initiatives.
