Description

The Pater Leo Dehon Foundation supports sustainable educational and development projects nationwide, primarily anchored in theological training and missionary work. Funding is provided to theological students in Africa and Southeast Asia as well as candidates for religious orders and the priesthood who are preparing for comprehensive formation in religious life and priesthood. Additionally, funds are allocated to educational institutions such as the Leoninum Handrup Gymnasium, pilgrimage pastoral care at the traditional site of Maria Martental, and children’s and youth ministry. The foundation relies on donations, interest income, as well as rents and leases to create long-term stable financial resources and to maintain the foundation’s assets consistently. Retreat offerings, missionary aid projects, and spiritual guidance worldwide complete the funding profile and contribute to strengthening social cohesion.

Educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and private individuals from the educational, social, and agricultural sectors may submit grant applications at any time. In addition to theological support, innovative development cooperation projects as well as measures to promote democracy and vocational training are welcome. Ongoing funding opportunities enable flexible project planning and short-term application submission. Through the sub-foundations EMMAUS, Vocation Pastoral Care, and Religious Formation, as well as specific areas such as mission, retreats, and youth ministry, a broad funding network is established. This helps to strengthen church and social initiatives worldwide and to support future generations in their personal and spiritual growth. Thus, the Pater Leo Dehon Foundation makes a sustainable contribution to the training of professionals and the development of forward-looking programs.
