Description
The ProFiliis Foundation for the Promotion of Children and Youth supports non-profit organizations, associations, educational institutions, and committed private individuals in the greater Dortmund area through its project funding program. Applications are processed quarterly on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 15, with expedited decisions possible in urgent cases. Funding is provided for initiatives that strengthen children and youth in education, sports, culture, environmental and nature conservation, health, as well as vocational training and further education, or that provide immediate assistance to young people in distress—such as due to illness, flight, or social disadvantage. The foundation grants financial resources as subsidies with the aim of developing individual talents and sustainably alleviating disadvantages.
A prerequisite for approval is that the project is based within the Dortmund city area or in adjacent municipalities; lighthouse and pilot projects with an impact in Dortmund may be exempt. Evaluation criteria include, among others, the number of children and youth benefiting, a high degree of innovation, demonstrable personal commitment, and the efficiency of resource utilization. Projects with strong volunteer involvement and clearly defined objectives are given special consideration. Application documents include the completed funding application, a detailed project description, and, if applicable, proof of non-profit status. Through this structured process, the foundation supports sustainable initiatives that positively change the daily lives of young people and ensure social participation.
