Description
ProFiliis – Foundation for the Promotion of Children and Youth continuously awards financial grants in North Rhine-Westphalia for projects that sustainably enrich the lives of young people and reduce disadvantages. Funding is provided to initiatives, associations, non-profit organizations, public institutions, as well as private individuals who implement projects for children and youth up to the age of 18 (in individual cases up to 21) in the greater Dortmund area or neighboring municipalities. Applications can be submitted at any time, with decisions made quarterly (Q1–Q3 by the end of the respective quarter, Q4 by December 15). Priority is given to measures in the areas of education, health, sports, culture, environmental/nature conservation, work & social affairs, as well as vocational training & further education, culture & media, or energy efficiency & climate protection. The goal is to reduce social, health, and economic disadvantages and to support the personal development of young people.
Selection criteria include, among others, the number of children and youth beneficiaries, the extent of volunteer involvement, the efficiency of fund usage, and the ratio of administrative costs to project costs. A prerequisite for funding is a written, signed application with a detailed financing plan, proof of bank details, and a clear presentation of the project objectives and expected benefits. ProFiliis values the inclusion of own funds and ideally supports projects with high volunteer engagement and concrete, verifiable target metrics. Recipients benefit not only from a reliable, regular funding structure but also from close support by the foundation’s administration during project implementation and reporting. This fosters sustainable partnerships that shape a positive future for children and youth.
