Description

The LEBENSNERV – Foundation for the Promotion of Psychosomatic MS Research supports innovative research projects that focus on the psychosomatic aspects of multiple sclerosis. Every two years, a funding award endowed with 2,500 euros is granted to recognize scientific contributions to psychosomatic MS research. In addition, the foundation promotes the publication of relevant works and subsidizes initiatives such as peer counseling, advisory services, and qualification measures for those affected by MS. The funding is provided as a non-repayable grant; applications can be submitted continuously and are aimed at individuals, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions in the Berlin region. Evaluation criteria particularly include the innovativeness of the research and its relevance to psychosomatic issues faced by people with MS.

The call is addressed to researchers and project leaders who aim to strengthen the self-responsibility and self-help of people with MS through scientific work, peer counseling offerings, or training models. A prerequisite is the submission of a project outline or research paper that fulfills the foundation’s purpose (psychosomatic research, self-help, further education). Application documents must include a detailed project description, a curriculum vitae, and proof of professional qualifications or research background. The decision is made by an expert jury based on the degree of innovation and psychosomatic relevance. This funding not only advances scientific knowledge but also strengthens and sustainably expands practical support structures for those affected.
