Description
The initiative in Vienna supports recognized self-regulatory bodies for the protection of minors with an annual fund of €75,000. Designed as a grant, this offer is exclusively aimed at non-profit organizations authorized under the KommAustria Act (§ 32a in conjunction with § 32b KOG) for the classification of media content. Applications can be submitted continuously, as there is no deadline (starting 01.01.2022). Funding requirements include official recognition, codes of conduct with clear criteria for transparent information about potential harm, as well as the submission of a written application. The funding addresses the continuously increasing complexity of media law reviews and enables organizations to receive financial relief in carrying out necessary control processes.
With the funding objective to optimize the effort and quality of self-regulation, measures are supported that protect the physical, mental, and moral development of minors. Through the financial grant, classification procedures can be further professionalized and publicly effective labeling consistently applied. This strengthens the trust of both users and media professionals alike and promotes responsible engagement with sensitive content. The long-term funding makes an important contribution to preventive youth media protection and ensures sustainable standards in the fields of media, culture & media.
