Description
The funding provided by the Software AG Foundation is available nationwide to non-profit organizations, educational institutions, foundations, and public agencies that wish to implement innovative projects in the fields of work & social affairs, health, education, culture, science, early childhood education, independently operated schools, child and youth welfare, elderly care, assistance needs, agriculture, nature conservation, as well as prevention and health promotion (school). Contributions are granted as subsidies; applications can be submitted continuously and largely informally. The foundation aims to sustainably strengthen social, educational, and ecological initiatives and, in particular, to support children and youth, seniors, and people with assistance needs in their development. A prerequisite for consideration is proof of non-profit status and alignment with the funding priorities of SAGST. Temporary conferences, holiday programs, scholarships, or administrative support are not eligible expenses.
For the application, among other documents, the following must be submitted in printed or electronic form: name and address of the applicant, bank details, brief self-description, description and justification of the project, schedule as well as cost and financing plan, proof of legal form, statutes, excerpt from the register of associations, and current annual financial statements. Projects are evaluated based on their fit with the funding spectrum, need and urgency, as well as appropriate own contribution. After a positive initial review, a project manager from SAGST usually accompanies the project until completion. There is no legal entitlement to funding; decision-making processes may take time. Interested initiatives can find a comprehensive guide to application and principles of funding allocation directly from the foundation.
