Funding of the Solidarity Generations Foundation (SGS)

The Solidarity Generations Foundation (SGS) supports nationwide non-profit initiatives, associations, interest groups, and individuals who implement intergenerational projects for children, youth, and older adults. The focus is on senior-friendly care and housing models, dementia support, visiting services, and educational offerings that simultaneously combat poverty and strengthen social cohesion. Applications can be submitted at any time, as the foundation offers ongoing funding programs. As a sponsor, SGS supports activities in the areas of housing construction & modernization, commitment to democracy, labor & social affairs, infrastructure, education & training, as well as specifically child and youth promotion.

Aiming to ensure independent living in old age while improving educational opportunities for the youngest, the funding is directed at project sponsors who realize barrier-free conversions and expansions or initiate visits and accompaniment in shared housing. Examples range from intergenerational living groups to homework supervision and game afternoons, as well as mobility services such as community buses. The foundation relies on inclusive participation: every measure should pool expertise from different age groups and establish joint responsibility structures. Interested organizations and private individuals can submit applications without a fixed deadline to implement innovative concepts promoting solidarity and participation across all generations.
