The goal is to strengthen civic engagement in the region and ensure the long-term preservation of historical architectural heritage to promote cultural diversity and regional identity.
Requirements for an application include proof of a current exemption certificate, a detailed cost and financing plan, and the substantive anchoring of the project in the fields of art, culture, or monument preservation. Eligible expenses include costs for events, publications, and structural monument measures; general operating costs, scientific research projects, and film productions are excluded. Submissions can be made informally at any time by post or email, including a completed application form, exemption certificate, confirmation of the funding guidelines, and project description. Selection is based on the quality of the project, its local relevance to the state of Schleswig-Holstein, and proof of own funds.
