Description
Since December 1999, the Sports Foundation of Sparkasse Essen has continuously supported recreational sports offerings in the Essen city area. With the aim of promoting clubs and initiatives in the field of sports and physical activity, one-time grants are awarded for the acquisition of sports equipment and materials. The foundation exclusively targets non-profit organizations, interest groups, and clubs active in recreational sports and does not provide funds for elite or professional sports. As part of Sparkasse Essen's social commitment, the funding serves to strengthen the common good and regional ties in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Applications can be submitted at any time: only the fully completed application form needs to be submitted to the Sports Foundation. Eligible expenses include, for example, the procurement of youth soccer goals, boule sets, or equipment for recreational sports programs. Decisions are made quickly and without bureaucracy, allowing initiatives to benefit immediately from new equipment or materials. Due to the ongoing call for applications, there are no deadline restrictions – projects can be submitted flexibly and according to need. This grant makes an important contribution to promoting physical activity in Essen and enables clubs to sustainably expand sporting activities and reach new target groups.
