The Sports Foundation of South Baden supports performance-oriented young athletes from non-profit clubs in the administrative district of Freiburg with financial grants and targeted measures to reconcile sports and vocational training. This funding offer is continuously awarded without a fixed deadline and aims to promote young talents pursuing a dual career. The board decides based on a structured procedure, consisting of a funding interview at the Olympic Training Center Freiburg-Black Forest and the submission of a written application, supported by a thorough expert evaluation.

Funding Requirements and Evaluation Criteria
Athletes are eligible who are members of a non-profit club within the catchment area of the Freiburg Regional Council and belong to a selection team or squad group at the state association level (student squad, state selection, state squad, national squad). A recognizable performance sports perspective, solid training structures, and evidence of previous achievements form the basis for a positive decision. Obtaining a statement from state and/or national coaches is recommended. Furthermore, fair conduct and a clear commitment to the NADA/WADA Code are expected. The evaluation is based on club membership, squad nomination, performance potential, coach feedback, and anti-doping compliance.
